Welcome to the Black Swamp Quilters Guild!

The purpose of this organization is to promote the development and appreciation of quilting in our community and to educate interested persons in all aspects of quilting.

Our guild consists of quilters, young and old, in Northwest Ohio.  Monthly meetings are normally held in Bowling Green, Ohio, at the meeting room in the Bowling Green Parks & Recreation Building at Simpson Garden Park, 1291 Conneaut Avenue on the second Thursday of the month, beginning at 7 PM (the room is open for socializing an hour before the meeting starts). Any change in meeting place, date and time will be noted on this page in the paragraph entitled "Important Information About Our Next Meeting."

Anyone interested in quilting is eligible for membership and guests are always welcome. Membership dues are $25//year, payable at the January meeting of each year. A membership application may be downloaded here.

Here is  beautiful letter from a Girl Scout Troop  about how our website helped them achieve badges during this year of pandemic. I have added the link they provided to our links page.

November 9, 2020
Hi,

Hope you had a wonderful weekend! My Girl Scout Troop and I just wanted to reach out because you have been super helpful with our “Textile” badges! We came across your page – https://blackswampquiltguild.tripod.com/links.html while distance learning and since it played such a big role in their badges, the girls insisted we had to reach out to let you know, haha. Thank you so much!!

To further express our gratitude, the girls wanted to suggest another resource we came across that they thought would complement your page. It’s https://www.onlinemattressreview.com/bed-decorations-quilting-101/ and it’s an article on quilting! It covers quilting history and museums, shows, charities, associations and societies, and learning how to quilt. It gave us some great information so they thought it could do the same for others using your page!

If you decided to add it to your resources, I’d love to show the girls that their suggestion was up and running to help other quilters over our next Zoom call! It would really help them feel that they contributed positively, and hopefully motivate them to keep at it.

Please let us know what you think if you get a chance!

Thanks again and best wishes,

LouAnne Taylor and her Senior Scouts of Troop #1490, Girl Scouts of Montana and Wyoming Council
