The Black Swamp Quilters Guild meets monthly, usually on the second Thursday of each month* at 7:00 pm at the Bowling Green Parks and Recreation 'Simpson' Building located at 1291 Conneaut St., Bowling Green, OH. Doors open at 6:00 pm so come early for some social time!
Each meeting includes introductions, a business section, updates on upcoming events; "show and tell"; and a short program. Programs range from "how-to's" to book reviews to special guest speakers.
*NEW* Christmas Brunch - Our annual Christmas Brunch will be Saturday, December 12th, at the Bowling Green Country Club, on Fairview Avenue in BG. Brunch will be served at 10:00 am, followed by a short business meeting. Details to be provided.

*NEW* March 21: Saturday, 9-4 BG Community Center. Everyone is invited; we have fabric, batting and kits for donation quilts available, or bring your own project and supplies. Lunch is on your own. We usually send out for pizzas and subs.

*NEW* Bowling Green Art Walk Quilt Show, Saturday, April 25th. Our guild will once again be participating in the Bowling Green Art Walk, with a quilt show sponsored by The Busy Thimble. Bring in a finished quilt to display; they can be dropped off at the April meeting, or make arrangements with Connie Miller at The Busy Thimble. This year, members can also offer quilts for sale. There is a form that must be filled out in order to sell quilts. It can be found at www.downtownbgohio.org/artwalk.php
Members are also needed to sit at the quilt show, answer questions, and do demonstrations. We will have tables available, bring your sewing supplies and project.
*NEW* June 11, 2015: Sharon Fulton Pinka is an independent quilt researcher and holds a BSED in English from Ohio University and an MS in Educational Media from Bowling Green State University. Sharon retired as a junior high English teacher/librarian and has a strong interest in Ohio history, antiques, woven coverlets, and quilts. Her writings focus on embroidered quilts, summer spreads, and Civil War-related quilt stories. She serves on The Quilters Hall of Fame and the AQSG Board of Directors and is a trustee for the Richland County Museum. Her work has appeared in the AQSG Blanket Statements, Quiltmania magazine, Pieces of Time magazine and the Ohio Genealogical Society Newsletter. Her earlier article about the Rainbow Quilt Block Company appeared in Uncoverings Volume 30, 2009. Since 2010, Sharon has been honored to co-host the annual AQSG regional Ohio Quilt Study Day with Xenia Cord.
Sharon is from Westerville, OH and comes to us from Gretchen Schultz’s Quilt Study Group.

*NEW* May 13, 2016 The ‘Singing Quilter’ has been contracted to perform for the Friday, May 13, 2016 meeting. Cathy Miller is the Singing Quilter and will be coming to us from Victoria, BC. Cathy Miller will entertain us with stores, singing and quilts. A room for classes for the event may be available at the BG Rec Center on Saturday, May 14. Reverse applique is the possible topic for the class. Monies for classes will be collected in advance. See the website www.singingquilter.com to find out more about the speaker.
